Comparative Religion is the study of different religious traditions in order to better understand and appreciate the diversity of beliefs and practices across different cultures and societies. Islam encourages its followers to seek knowledge and understanding of different religions and to engage in respectful dialogue with people of other faiths, to invite others to Islam. In Islam, the term “ahl al-kitab” (People of the Book) is used to refer to Jews and Christians, who are seen as sharing a common religious heritage with Muslims. Here we examine various faith groups, in their beliefs, values, and practices, in the light and guidance of Islamic teachings, and invite all of the world’s various faith-group members to the peace and sanctity of Islam.
